A week full of downwinds in one of the most reliable sea breezes on earth. Every summer afternoon the Fremantle Doctor rolls up the Perth coast and switches on runner after runner, km after km. This January, we are here to host you and showcase the best we've got to offer. We'll be based at Sorrento Beach, a stone's throw from the water. Each day we shuttle you to the best launch spot for the forecast. You paddle the runs at your pace, with expert coaching and local knowledge aplenty. This is the camp for paddlers who love downwind and want to get great at it. Coaching from local experts and current racing champions, small group size, structured technique sessions, video analysis and a menu of runs that lets us match every day to the wind and to you. The runs on the menu: The Drummers Run, Perth's classic downwind, and its bigger sibling, the Northern Drummers The Snapper Run, our southern epic The Mandurah Cut, a day trip south with a downwind finish through the cut The Wreck Run or the famous Ledge Point to Lancelin Plenty more where they came from. Every run is chosen daily based on wind, swell and the group. No two days the same. Itinerary Sat 23 Jan: Arrive, check in at Sorrento, ski setup, welcome dinner Sun 24 Jan: Orientation, safety and technique morning, first downwind in the afternoon Mon 25 Jan: Technique morning, afternoon downwind Tue 26 Jan: Coastal paddle (and Australia Day celebrations) Wed, Thurs 27&28th Jan: Free morning, downwinds all afternoon Fri 29 Jan: The finale run, farewell dinner Sat 30 Jan: Check out and departures What's included 7 nights accommodation at Quality Resort Sorrento Beach (breakfast included). All queen beds can split into two singles Equipment hire including surf ski, paddle, leg leash and PFD All coaching, technique sessions and video analysis On water safety cover and live tracking on every run All shuttles and paddling logistics Daily fresh lunches and snacks Welcome and farewell dinners Paddle Collective T-shirt What's not included Flights and travel to Perth (airport pickup can be arranged, ask us) Dinners (other than the two hosted by us) High viz paddling clothing and sports nutrition Alcoholic beverages and travel insurance This camp suits intermediate to advanced ocean paddlers. Cancellation Policy
Cancellation Policy for Paddle Travel Holidays We understand plans can change, and we aim to balance flexibility with our commitments to suppliers, guides, venues, and participants. This policy applies to all multi-day paddle travel holidays (e.g., camps, retreats, expeditions) booked through Paddle Collective. Cancellations by Customers Requests must be made in writing to admin@paddlecollective.com.au. The cancellation date is when we receive your notice. Refunds are based on the total trip cost paid: More than 180 days before departure: Full refund minus $250 non-refundable admin fee. 90–180 days before departure: 75% refund. 60–89 days before departure: 50% refund. 30–59 days before departure: 25% refund (or full credit for a future Paddle Collective trip, if available). Less than 30 days before departure (or no-show): No refund or credit. Alternative Options We may allow a transfer to another participant (subject to approval) or issue a credit voucher for a future Paddle Collective holiday (valid 12–24 months). Non-Refundable Components Some elements (e.g., flights, permits, accommodations) may be non-refundable per third-party policies. These are noted in your booking confirmation, and refunds exclude non-recoverable costs. Cancellations by Paddle Collective If we cancel (e.g., due to insufficient numbers, safety issues, or unforeseen circumstances), you will receive a full refund of payments made, or you may choose a transfer/credit to a future trip. We will notify you promptly. Force Majeure Paddle Collective is not liable for changes due to events beyond our control (e.g., natural disasters, severe weather, government restrictions, pandemics). Refunds depend on third-party recoveries and may be partial or unavailable. We will minimize impact where possible. Travel Insurance We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance covering trip cancellation/interruption, medical/evacuation, and adventure activities (paddling/ocean sports). Insurance is not included in the trip price. Important Notes This policy does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). If a major service failure occurs, you may be entitled to a remedy regardless of this policy. All bookings are subject to our full Terms & Conditions.
